The following terms are appli= cable to the rental of the 1919 wooden caboose belonging to The Chester Foundatio= n, Inc., 10 Prospect St., Chester, MA 01011. Phone (413) 354-7878.

 

 

 

1. NO FIRES of any kind in the caboose.  (Including, but not limited to, ke= rosene lanterns, camp cook stoves or the wood stove which is an integral part of t= his historic artifact) Battery lanterns are required for inside use.  Camp= cook stoves may be used on the lawn next to the caboose.

 

 

2. NO ALCOHOL

 

 

3. NO PETS

 

 

4. MAXIMUM CAPACITY 12 PERSONS

 

 

BE ADVISED THAT:

 

A.  Sanitary facilitie= s are located a short walk away in the railroad station.

 

B.  You will need to bring padding or air mattresses if you object to the wooden bu= nks in the caboose.    &nbs= p; 

 

C.  There is no telephone available and in many cases, cell phones are ineffective in= the hilltowns.

 

 

The Chester Foundation is most interested in y= our feedback in all aspects of the Historic Caboose Experience.  Please share with us your thoughts, impressions and suggestions that we may continually be able to upgrade the facilities and experience for future guests.
